Familia Castaño `Dulce` Monastrell DO Yecla's grapes for this wine are grown in vineyards at an altitude of 750m above sea level, with a north-south orientation. The soils are a mixture of gravel and sand and the average age of the vines is 37 years old, planted at a density of 1,600 vines per hectare. The bush vines are short pruned and unirrigated, giving yields of two tonnes per hectare.
Familia Castaño `Dulce` Monastrell DO Yecla is a deep purple red with a subtle garnet rim. Very clean on the nose with stewed black fruit, slight hints of carob bean and black olives. Full-bodied yet incredibly fresh on the palate, the Dulce is bursting with plum jam and dried fig flavours. A pleasant finish with a slight acidity keeps this sweet wine perfectly balanced.
